Royalty Kult

David Fulford-Brown is an American alternative metal multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer best known as the founder and co-creative force behind the project Royalty Kult. Influenced by a lifetime immersed in rock music, the origins of his distinctive approach to songwriting and production can be traced back to his childhood. He is the son of renowned rock photographer Tim Fulford-Brown, whose work captured legendary artists including Black Sabbath, Elton John, Carlos Santana, Jeff Beck, and many others. Surrounded by iconic music from an early age—with Black Sabbath serving as a particularly profound influence—Fulford-Brown has built a career centered on crafting dark, atmospheric, and cinematic alternative metal that blends modern and alternative rock, industrial, punk, metalcore, and nu-metal elements.

Musical Foundations & Royalty Kult

In 2009, Fulford-Brown joined forces with vocalist Josh Bauserman, beginning a creative partnership that would spend more than a decade refining its sound under the name Interim Divine before officially evolving into Royalty Kult.

Rather than following the traditional touring model, Royalty Kult was conceived as a studio-driven creative project emphasizing meticulous production, digital releases, and cinematic visual storytelling. As the band’s primary songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Fulford-Brown composed and produced the conceptual demos that would later become Royalty Kult’s debut album Enjoying The End. Collaborating in 2019-2020 with multi-talented producer Josh Buma at Skylit Sound Studios in Los Angeles California, before releasing the full length album.

Since then, he has expanded the project’s catalog with a series of ambitious standalone singles, including a hard-rock-inspired reinterpretation of The Postal Service’s darker offering “This Place Is a Prison.”

Industry Influence & Collaborations

Although operating independently, Fulford-Brown has cultivated relationships with respected figures throughout the rock and entertainment industries, helping elevate Royalty Kult’s productions while maintaining complete creative independence.

His work has included collaborations with acclaimed producers Sahaj Ticotin (producer for Starset and Nothing More, and frontman of Ra) and Chris Collier (producer and mixer for Korn), contributing to the band’s polished yet crushing sonic identity.

For select live performances, including a featured showcase at the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, Fulford-Brown and Bauserman assembled accomplished musicians such as guitarist Doc Coyle (Bad Wolves, God Forbid, and Snot) to bring Royalty Kult’s music to the stage.

David’s creative work has also crossed into mainstream entertainment, most notably with Royalty Kult casting Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee Gail Kim as the lead in the cinematic music video for the single “Separation.”

Throughout his career, Fulford-Brown’s projects have shared stages with and been featured alongside influential acts including Jonathan Davis (Korn), Soulfly, Fear Factory, Powerman 5000, Spineshank, Taproot, and Adema. His work has been deeply rooted in the Southern California rock and metal scene, where he established a strong presence through years of performances, collaborations, and creative partnerships, while continuing to expand his reach through select national appearances and showcases beyond the region.

Today, David Fulford-Brown resides in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California on his property near South Lake Tahoe, where he writes, records, and produces music from his private recording studio. Alongside developing new material for Royalty Kult, he collaborates with and produces other artists, continuing to push the boundaries of alternative metal and modern rock through immersive production, cinematic storytelling, and uncompromising artistic vision.

With new music currently in development, Fulford-Brown remains committed to evolving as both an artist and producer while expanding the creative scope of Royalty Kult for years to come.
